The garden is where everything begins — colour inspiration, plants for dyeing, sketches, dreams... It's where ideas begin with my writing; permaculture principles are lived out and systems tested.

GARDEN & STUDIO
About
I am an illustrator, designer and maker living in Sussex, England, with thirty years of creative experience — on paper and fabric and in soil.
My Finnish background has always influenced how I work: I like to keep things simple, making art useful, and let nature take the lead. I believe everything that is created should have a purpose — a picture to keep, an object to use, a garden to eat from.
I am neurodivergent, and part of my story has been, learning to live and work independently from systems that have felt restrictive — moving instead towards a life that is sustainable, creative and honest. My garden, permaculture principles, and my writing that stems from it are all part of the same practice as the illustration, design and craft.
Nature is the original creative — I'm the grateful witness!
